The Newest BKC Research Sprint Launches!

Wednesday, February 7, 2024

In collaboration with our partners, the MADE program at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design and Edgelands Institute, we hosted the first session of the newest BKC Research Sprint.

The topic this time is Visualizing AI Data Tools in Boston’s Urban Spaces. After three years of this program, this is the first sprint that is in-person and the first in which participants create a physical output. Students will use city of Boston open data to create data visualizations that help people to rethink their relationship to AI-driven and data-driven tools and, in doing so, envision more joyful and meaningful experiences in the city. Their work will composed a museum exhibit to be presented at the Museum of Science, Boston. The sprint announcement including student participants is live here. You can learn more about the research sprint overall including previous sprints here and watch a video about the international collaboration behind a broader research sprint initiative here.
